Sahoko Sato Timpone


Sahoko Sato Timpone, mezzo-soprano, is a native of Tokyo who spent her formative years in both Germany and the United States and has performed with Tokyo Opera Nomori, Seiji Ozawa Ongakujuku Opera, the Baltimore, Chatauqua, Syracuse and Nevada Opera Companies in roles such as Cherubino, Hansel, Dorabella, Suzuki and Orlofsky.

As concert soloist, Sahoko has appeared with the Academy of St.-Martin-in-the-Fields at Carnegie Hall, with the Seattle, Oregon, West Virginia, Singapore and Sapporo Symphony Orchestras, as well as with the New York Symphonic Ensemble.

Her many solo recital appearances include a benefit gala in Bangkok and another in Granada, Spain where she was awarded First Prize in the Zaneto International Competition.

Sahoko has earned degrees from the Manhattan School of Music, the New England Conservatory of Music and is presently a doctoral candidate at Rutgers University.
